Arnie Katz: Victory Road Preview & Predictions!
The Kingfish Arnie Katz gets you ready for TNA’s July pay per view!
Victory Road, TNA’s first pay per view in Houston, TX, has the feel of a big indie card. All the bad booking comes home to roost and most of the matches have the flavor of one-night attractions.
That makes predictions problematical, to say the least. The action will be good and, if TNA can avoid comedy spots, the card should be moderately entertaining. New, or at least radically changed, stories will emerge fro this show, because the ones currently in force are not as strong as they should be.
Let’s look at the menu of matches for this all-cage show…
Gail Kim vs. Angelina Love
The Story: Gail Kim represents the best aspects of the Knockout Division and deserves a big share of credit for its success. The Beautiful People, on the other hand, cavort like escapees from one of those E! reality shows. The hostilities between Kim and Love started very early in TNA’s history and the animosity runs deeper than ever today.
My Prediction: The outcome of this contest may depend as much on TNA’s plans for Taylor Wilde as anything to do with the combatants. If Taylor is to hold the title for even as long as the next month, Angelina Love looks like an obvious challenger. If Awesome Kong regains the belt at this show, Fail Kim becomes the more valuable talent. TNA will probably try to have it both ways: Kim will win the match and Angelina Love, assisted by Velvet Sky, will put the paper bag on Kim’s head. ODB will make the save to set up the Knockout Division’s first Tag Team Championship Match for the next PPV.
Predicted Grade: B
Jay Lethal vs. Sonjay Dutt
Revenge Challenge Match
The Story: Just when it seemed that Black Machismo and SoCal Val were about to write their happy ending, Sonjay Dutt proved to be the snake in their garden of happiness. He disrupted the wedding and Jay Lethal has thirsted for vengeance ever since that fateful day. They had skirmishes at the pink Taco and Dutt’s yoga class, but now they come to the ring to settle their score.
My Prediction: When a storyline follows such a well-trodden path, it’s a little shocking that TNA has made so many mistakes. The angle has pretty much fallen apart in the last few weeks. SoCal has not indicated any preference or opinion, so the feud has slid into a rut. Now that the booking has killed the heat, it’s time to have the match that should’ve closely followed the ruined wedding. The feud is over when Jay Lethal wins, so he’ll get only a measure of revenge this time. Sonjay Dutt will take the decision in sneaky fashion, perhaps using SoCal Val against her fiancé.
Predicted Grade: B+ (great action, but a weak finish)
Taylor Wilde vs. Awesome Kong
TNA Knockout Championship Match
The Story: Taylor Wilde came out of the stands to take Awesome Kong’s $25,000 Challenge. She lost but put up such a great fight that she got the chance to earn a second shot by defeating Raisha Said. On iMPACT, the battling blonde won the cash and the title. Now she has to defend it against the former champion, perhaps the most fearsome woman in the history of professional wrestling!
My Prediction: It seems as though TNA is trying to negate Awesome Kong’s box office appeal in every way possible. Losing to Taylor Wilde would advance this insanity a few more steps. The right booking would be a tainted victory, due to outside interference, for Awesome Kong. A second, lesser, possibility is that Said will attempt to interfere, the move will backfire and Taylor will win. That would lead to Taylor-Love and Kong-Said as stories going forward from Victory Road.
Predicted Grade: B
LAX vs. Beer Money
TNA World Tag Team Championship
Fans’ Revenge Lumberjack Strap Match
The Story: Beer Money, as unlikely a pairing as TNA as seen, show great chemistry and could be the top heel due in the promotion for a while. From the moment the team formed, Beer Money has put LAX in the crosshairs. Now the smooth-working heel due has the chance to seize that precious gold.
My Prediction: This doesn’t look like a one-match feud. LAX will look good and keep the title, but Beer Money will both take some lashes from the fans and, ultimately, give some to the champs.
Predicted Grade: A-
Team TNA v Team Mexico v Team Japan v Team International
Rounds 3 and 4 of the 2008 World X-Cup
The Story: Four, four-man teams are competing in the revived World X Cup Tournament. Two rounds took place on iMPACT; the final two rounds are scheduled for the pay per view. The finale will be an Ultimate X match.
My Prediction: The tournament has not worked as an angle despite some very good matches. Team TNA will come through in the end. Kaz will lead his team to victory in the final round. Team International will finish second, Team Japan third and Team Mexico will bring up the rear. And in a week, it’ll be as if the whole thing never happened.
Predicted Grade: A-
A.J. Styles, Christian Cage & Rhino v Kurt Angle & Team 3D
Fans Choice Six-Man Match
The Story: YMA knows there’s only one way to settle a complex, interconnected feud system like this: put everyone in the ring and let them fight.
My Prediction: The fans will choose Full Metal Mayhem, because…well, why would they pick anything else? Christian and maybe his partners, too, will go through some tables, but who wins is not very important. One possible scenario is that Styles and Angle will battle off to the side while Team 3D works the Dudley Death Drop on Rhino for the win. My prediction is that, if TNA does the right thing in the main event, the babyfaces will pull out a victory after both sides take tons of punishment.
Predicted Grade: A-
Samoa Joe vs. Booker T
TNA World Heavyweight Championship
The Story: Booker T thought he would be the big man when he came to TNA, but he soon discovered that Samoa Joe holds that position and intends to keep it. Booker wants the title and even Kevin Nash doesn’t think Joe can stop his ambition.
My Prediction: Sting injected himself into the feud on the 7/10 iMPACT Most likely, he’ll keep Nash from successfully interfering against his supposed friend Samoa Joe. In the confusion, however, Booker T will level Joe and take the title in his home town of Houston, TX.
Predicted Grade: B+
Predicted Grade for the entire card: B

BWO Southern State will return to action back at The Hightstown American Legion on Friday July 25th, 2008! Last time in Hightstown we rocked the house and this time promises to be no different!
[MAIN EVENT! TAG TEAM GRUDGE MATCH!]
Hightstown’s Own “Modern Day Enforcer” Eric Cooper and “Puerto Rican Prodigy” Chrono Chris
versus
BWO Southern State Champion “Dirty” Don Montoya and “Latin Terror” Anhell Gonzalez
- Ever since BWO Southern State started almost one year ago, Cooper has been at odds with both Don Montoya and Anhell Gonzalez. Cooper has been within seconds of becoming the BWO Southern State Champion on two occasions, and if it wasn’t for Anhell and the tactics of Montoya, could very well be holding gold. This past February at St. Valentine’s Day Massacre, Chrono Chris took on Anhell Gonzalez one on one and fell short. To end the evening, Cooper and Chrono made these two scatter and have laid out the challenge for this match! Montoya and Anhell reluctantly accepted. Southern State officials have also decided that this match _MUST_ have a decisive winner!
[BWO PHOENIX CHAMPIONSHIP ON THE LINE! LAST CHANCE MATCH!]
“Canadian Shooter” Tommy Force w/ JADEN [Champion]
versus
“Jaded Angel” Draven Blaze [Challenger]
- Since the inception of the BWO Southern State Phoenix Championship, these two have been lighting the division on fire! Many feel these two stole the show back in February and they will go at it once again. In order for the champ to agree to this match, JADEN has stated in the contract that if Draven Blaze can not defeat Tommy Force, then Draven will never receive another Phoenix title shot as long as Force is champion! Draven has promised that this is going to be his night to shine here in Southern State and the fans haven’t seen anything yet!
[FOUR WAY AERIAL ASSAULT!]
1/2 Of The Osarian Portal, Ophidian
versus
Kekoa “The Flyin’ Hawaiin”
versus
Problem Child
versus
The debuting Ryu Lee
- These four men will take it to the air as they all have an agenda to prove. The rules to this match are simple, the first man to get the pinfall will be declared the winner! Ophidian will be making his BWO Southern State debut. Part of the up and coming popular tag team The Osarian Portal, he will go at this one alone as he tries to make a name for not just himself, but The Osarian Portal here in Southern State. Ryu Lee has been lighting the rings up down in Force One Pro Wrestling in South Jersey and is also looking to make a big name for himself. Problem Child wants to bounce back from his first heart breaking loss to “Sugarfoot” Alex Payne back in February. And Kekoa is looking for that big elusive win here in Southern State. These four men will pull out all the stops on this evening, and will stop at no cost to earn themselves the big win in this match.
ALSO ON THIS EVENING…
- “Dangerous” Danny Danger has once again laid out a challenge to _ANYONE_ in Hightstown, and all of wrestling to come and test him in his open challenge series. When word got out that Southern State was returning, the phones have already been ringing off the hook to get a piece of Danger. Who will step up to the plate and face Danger on July 25th?
- Southern State officials got a cryptic phone call from The Sensational One and said that on this evening not only will he host a very special Raptor’s Den, but he has promised that his hired muscle Vinny The Fixxer _WILL_ make a huge impact on this night!
ALSO SET TO BE IN ACTION…
“Your Hero and Role Model” Steve Off w/ Hands Off, Chaos, BWO United States Champion Dr. Callahan & “Mr. Wolf” Evan Myers, Hightstown’s own Dan Murdoch, “Outlaw” Dave Logan, and many more TBA!

CWF Mid-Atlantic (5/3) Preview: Vendetta!
A wild card is on the way for this weekend. Get the latest information — right from the official source!
CWF MID-ATLANTIC’S “SIX MAN VENDETTA” THIS SATURDAY, MAY 3rd, IN BURLINGTON, N*** Boogie, Tank & Converse vendetta with the VIPs!
CWF Mid-Atlantic returns to the Carolina Sports Arena in Burlington, NC this Saturday, May 3rd, with a 7:30pm belltime. This is a huge event with a full card of action!
SIX MAN VENDETTA! A vendetta is a feud with a cycle of retaliatory
violence, with the friends of someone who has been wronged or
dishonored seeking vengeance by physically punishing the culprits or
their friends. Historically, the word vendetta has been used to mean a
blood feud.
It’s no secret the vendetta that exists between the VIPs (Ortega,
Greene, & Gemini) and Rob “Boogie Woogie Man” McBride, Tank Lawson,
and Ric Converse. These six men have a long standing feud and have
battled one another for well over a year. However this Saturday night
for the first time, the six men will face each other at the same time!
The VIPs struck at SuperBrawl 2, attacking Rob McBride, and in many
people’s eyes, costing The Boogie Woogie Man the Mid-Atlantic Title
held by Ric Converse. This was of course in retaliation for McBride
costing Ortega the heavyweight crown, according to the VIPs.
It is for certain that the VIPs are a tight unit, willing to take any
shortcut and break any rule to get what they want. The dominant
faction has controlled the majority of the championships in the CWF
for some time, with the heavyweight title next on their list.
However that same championship belt has created a possible rift
between reigning title holder Ric Converse and a former champion, Rob
McBride. The controversial pinfall at SuperBrawl 2 has created even
more tension between the two friends and many fans speculate that it’s
just a matter of time before it explodes into an all out fight.
Will the “Six Man Vendetta” be the night that the friends can no
longer get along? Ric Converse commented to us about the situation.
“I personally asked Commissioner Cross to add me to the six-man match
against the VIPs as the partner of Rob McBride. I know there is some
confusion about what happened at SuperBrawl, but this Saturday night I
am going to prove myself to Rob and the fans and together we are going
to win this vendetta against the VIPs,” stated the heavyweight champion.
The VIPs answered back in typical fashion. TV Champion Steve Greene
said, “Boogie Woogie you better learn that Ric Converse can’t be
trusted. Just look at what he did to me! He turned his back on me
but now I know who I can trust, and that’s the VIPs. We’re going to
up the score on Converse, McBride, and especially Tank Lawson. BLAW!!!”
In addition to the huge six-man bout, a special grudge match has been
signed. Alex Adonis has been caught in a long time struggle as well,
against the Army now commanded by General McAllister. This Saturday
Adonis will face the Army’s top recruit, Marcellus King. General
McAllister ordered special rules for this grudge contest… it will be
fought under “Boot Camp Rules.” Adonis, a decorated Marine was not
moved by the stipulations regulated by the General. Can Adonis
survive “Boot Camp” again or will the Army finally get rid of their
longtime rival? This could be one of the most brutal matches ever for
Adonis and McAllister’s Army.
The new Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champions, the Kamakazi Kid & Xsiris,
will also be in action with their first title defense. The champions
will face Fatback Enterprises, although which two memebers they will
face has not been revealed by Fatback’s manager, Brad Stutts.
“It’s about time we get a title shot around here. I have the biggest,
baddest, and best stable of wrestlers to be found anywhere on the east
coast, but all we ever get is the shaft from Commissioner Cross. I
know these opportunities are few and far between so you better believe
Fatback Enterprises will be ready to take that tag team titles away
from those high flying monkeys that hold them now,” Stutts explained.
He continued, “I don’t have to reveal my plans, but they will
certainly be explained this Saturday night. And on top of us winning
the tag titles, I plan on having a small party of my own to celebrate
how Fatback Enterprises nearly killed Mikael Yamaha. You’ll kick
yourself if you miss this!”
All this and so much more including Mikael Yamaha, Destiny’s Lee Valiant, Nick Richards, and more in action this Satuday night in Burlingon, NC at the Carolina Sports Arena!

Shannon: Backlash Preview
Our resident ring-wise philosopher weighs in with his preview and predictions for Backlash.
I haven’t done all that well with my predictions, as of late. I used to be able to mind-read the writers and nail the match results with about a 90% accuracy rating. I only got Wrestlemania about half-right. When it came to TNA’s Lockdown, I was embarrassed at how bad I missed the mark. Being a glutton for punishment, I decided to put new batteries in my crystal ball, brew a fresh pot of really hot tea to get decent tea leaves, and break out the star charts to see if I can do a little better with picking the winners for Backlash.
Big Show v The Great Khali
This match should have been booked for Wrestlemania. Sadly, Khali was thrown into the ECW Battle Royal, while Big Show had to job to an over-paid, under-talented boxer. There’s no sense crying over spilt milk, so I do look forward to this match.
Big Show is due a reward for doing the job to Mayweather at Wrestlemania. A dominant thrashing of the Indian Giant would be a good first start. That win could launch Show to a main event battle against the WWE champ, whoever that ends up being. The Great Khali might challenge for the ECW strap, but he’s just not being pushed to the level of World or WWE title matches.
Another reason for my choice in this match has to do with marketing. Khali is minimally marketable, these days. There just isn’t a long line at the concession stands to get those Khali T-shirts. Big Show, on the other hand, has always brought decent revenue to the vendors. For multiple reasons, I can only see two options for this match. It wouldn’t surprise me to see the writers cheat the fans with a count-out or double DQ ending. If there is going to be an actual winner, then I go with the man being pushed.
Predicted Winner: The Big Show
Predicted Grade: B-
Matt Hardy v MVP
U.S. Title Match
MVP has held the US strap since he took it from Chris Benoit, last year. The WWE has kept the strap on MVP for so long, in my opinion, to give time for fans to forget who MVP beat for it. That may sound odd, but the writers often like to submerge history. There are dozens of examples that I could quote, but this is about the US title match.
Matt Hardy has been given his brother’s push. Jeff flaked, again, and Matt has had to try and pick up the pieces. Matt has done a great job of re-establishing the name of Hardy as one of honor and hard work. With the soon-to-be-released Hardy Boyz DVD on the horizon, Matt needs to be spotlighted, even more. The US title would be a great way to showcase him. Matt could face several great stars to further his push.
MVP has basically battled everyone in sight. He’s running out of competition on Smackdown. If MVP were to drop the US title, he could jump to Raw (possibly as part of this year’s draft). MVP could challenge Chris Jericho for the Intercontinental title. He could also eventually challenge for the WWE title. It would be best for MVP to drop the title.
Predicted Winner: Matt Hardy
Predicted Grade: A
Kane v Chavo Guerrero
ECW Championship Match
On Tuesday’s ECW, La Familia attacked Kane during an episode of The Cutting Edge. Chavo blasted Kane’s knee, over and over, with a steel chair. Kane is going into the match at a disadvantage. Chavo also has Bam Neely as his bodyguard. There is just no way that Kane should be able to keep his title. That being said, Kane will survive a brutal attack on his knee to beat Chavo.
I expect a massive swerve on this one. After being almost destroyed by Chavo, Kane goes to leave with his ECW title. C.M. Punk chooses to cash in his Money in the Bank title shot and challenges Kane. Punk goes after Kane’s knee with a flurry of kicks. Punk picks Kane up and nails the G-T-S to regain his title. This could also turn Punk into a heel.
Expected Winner: C.M. Punk
Expected Grade: B
Mickie James, Maria, Cherry, Michelle McCool, Ashley & Kelly Kelly v Beth Phoenix, Natalia (Nattie Neidhart), Melina, Victoria, Jillian Hall & Layla
12-Diva Tag Match
I can only hope this match ends quickly. I’ll admit that the Diva group is starting to get better, as far as wrestling ability. Mickie, Beth, Nattie, and Victoria are actually decent grapplers. Melina, Kelly and Maria can hold their own in a good fight. As for the others, well they needed filler for this one.
To be absolutely honest, I really could care less who wins this Bathroom Break match. Mickie is in the middle of a solid push, so it would make sense for her to take the win with her Implant DDT. The thing that makes this one a little difficult to call is that there are low-talents on both sides. Beth or Victoria could take out Cherry, Kelly or Ashley with little effort. Mickie could drop Jillian or Layla without breaking a sweat.
Predited Winners: Mickie, Maria, Ashley, Cherry, Michelle & Kelly
Predicted Grade: C-
Batista v Shawn Michaels
Special ref: Chris Jericho
Jericho is going to be the deciding factor in this match. Y2J is heading at warp speed towards a heel turn. Batista is also on the verge of swapping his white hat for a black one. Batista has a great deal of anger about the whole Ric Flair situation. That might make him careless in the ring. He might be so tempted to hurt Shawn that the Heartbreak Kid will be able to slip in Sweet Chin Music and take the win.
Shawn is the face. He did what was asked of him at Wrestlemania. Shawn should be the White Knight who rides in and vanquishes the evil threat. It all comes back to Jericho. I anticipate a Jericho v Shawn battle for the I-C title in the next few months. If the writers want to set up a good feud between Jericho and Shawn, then Jericho needs to screw over Shawn in this match.
Predicted Winner: Batista (due to Jericho’s help)
Predicted Grade: A-
Randy Orton v JBL v Triple H v John Cena
Fatal Four-Way WWE Championship Match
I’ve predicted, over and over, that Randy Orton will drop the belt. I’ve been wrong, so many times. This time, I’m going with the champ. Orton is going to sit back and watch as the others eliminate each other. Orton will then strike like a cobra and take out the last challenger and retain. I expect JBL to do well in this match. I could actually see the match coming down to JBL and Orton.
If Orton is going to lose the strap, he’ll be the first man eliminated. JR and Lawler could keep pushing the fact that there will be a new champion. If that were to happen, then JBL would surprise the world and take the belt. I just don’t see that angle being worked. For some odd reason, the writers want to keep the belt on Orton. He’s a decent heel but he’s running out of contenders. If Orton survives this match, he would likely face Big Show, next. Show would be the best person to take the strap off Orton.
Predicted Winner: Randy Orton
Predicted Grade: A-
Undertaker v Edge
World Heavyweight Title Match
This match is almost a given. All the rumors have this as Undertaker’s Last Ride. He’s likely got a job for life behind the scenes with the WWE. I expect him to hold the belt straight through to Wrestlemania XXV.
This battle is going to be chaotic and brutal. I expect La Familia to be massively involved in this battle. Undertaker is going to have to over-come the Edgeheads, Bam Neely, and possibly Chavo. Somehow, Undertaker will be able to vanquish the entire group to retain. Undertaker is possibly going to end up a bloody mess, but he’s still going to keep the gold.
Predicted Winner: Undertaker
Predicted Grade: A
Final Grade: B
Final Thoughts: I think Backlash will have its moments. I think the best match of the night is going to be MVP v Matt Hardy. I really hope that I’m right on the ECW situation. That’s how I would book it. I have always loved swerves. It’s so time for Orton to drop the belt, but the Age of Orton has just started. It would be counter-productive to have him end up without the gold. I’m hoping that Undertaker gets the chance to really shine in his match. This should actually be as good, if not better, than Wrestlemania. I hope you all enjoy the show.

Force One Wrestling (5/3) Preview: PLedge of ALlegiance 2!
Force One Presents
Pledge of Allegience 2
May 3rd!
Force One Pro Wrestling celebrates their one year anniversary of the first show on May 3rd, when they present “Pledge of Allegience 2 - These Colors Don’t Run”, at Hamilton Hall in Egg Harbor City, NJ.
Commissioner Tommy Cairo has pulled out all of the stops in an effort to make this the most exciting Force One Show in their brief, but exciting history.
The Force One Heavyweight Championship will be on the line that evening as current champ Dangerous Danny Doring puts the belt on the line in a rematch against the very popular Breaker Morant. Doring stole the victory over Morant in March.
Will he be lucky again on May 3rd?
The Latin high flyer, Panther, renews his feud from the last show against “The Pretty Hate Machine” Jason Gotti. These 2 guys were in the semi finals for the newly created Force One Iron League championship, but their hatred for each other cost them a run for the title.
At the last show, Millionaire Ted Jr. challenged his protege Diego DeMarco to a match against the much larger & tougher Rockin’ Rebel, with the stipulation that if he could beat Rebel, he’d gain his freedom from the Million Dollar Stable, and join his friend Jimmy Clydesdale. Ted sabotaged his own match by accident, and Diego was freed. After the match, however, Ted, Rebel and Razor Rivera attacked Diego, but Diego’s buddy Ryu Lee made the save. Cairo has ordered a match between DeMarco and Lee, and Rebel and Razor. There’s a rumor that the motorcycle gang that attended the last show has issues with Rebel, and plan on making their presence known at this show. One can only guess what they have in mind on May 3rd.
This night will also mark the debut of several new Force One stars.
Ricky Reyes opens the door with Force One with a very tough opponent, “The Midnight Idol” Nicky Benz. Reyes is an impressive wrestler, having had successful runs with Ring of Honor, CZW, and Pro Wrestling Unplugged. Benz is more than equal to the task, as he’ll be fresh off a dark match appearance on Monday Night RAW.
Also debuting that evening is former WWE developmental talent Danny Inferno. He has had a stellar career on the indy circuit, culminating in his time with the WWE. Danny left because he missed the indy scene in New Jersey, and Force One is happy to have him. He’ll take on the VERY tough and always in the mix for the heavyweight belt, Patch, along with his manager, “The Solar Powered Love Machine” JADEN. A win over a top contender like Patch could put Inferno right to the top as contender for the Heavyweight Championship.
Force One will be proud to place the newly created Iron League championship on one of the two finalists for this prestigious belt. Tommy Force (with JADEN) won a 3 way match, and Mike Reed was victorious in his semi final match, and this could prove to be the match of the evening, as both competitors match well against each other.
The alliance of Crazii Shea and “The Hybrid” Josh Adams (also known as Bass Anarchy) had an impressive debut on the March show against the high flying team of RV1 and Chiki Cortes (aka High Impact, with their bodyguard, Angel). Cairo has ordered a rematch between the two.
Junior Heavyweight Champion Judas Young has become one of the most popular wrestlers in Force One, and his recent victory over “Sure Thing” Ryan Wing brought him to the forefront of the Force One roster. Wing was impressive in his loss, however, and Tommy Cairo has ordered a rematch between these two seasoned veterans. Young will also be coming off an appearance on RAW that week, and we’re sure his energy will be carried to the Force One show.
Doors will open at 6:30 pm that evening, with an official 7:30 pm bell time. Keep in mind, however, that two of our newer students will work a “dark match” during that time.
Also appearing that evening: Commissioner Tommy Cairo, “Pryme Time” Amy Lee, referrees Just Johnny, Mike Walker, and Spanky 1-2-3, ring announcer Phil Varlese, the lovely Nicole, The White Lotus, and the staff & students of Force One.
There will be many more surprises that evening, so this will be one you won’t want to miss!
Tickets for this anniversary show are only $12, and can be purchased at the door on the night of the show, or by calling 732-604-9927. Remember, Hamilton Hall, 528 Philadelphia Ave, Egg Harbor City, NJ 08215.

IWC presents its Night of Legends
This show features some of the most accomplished and recognized stars in professional wrestling history, plus many of today’s brightest stars.
Matches include: Shirley Doe & Super Hentai vs The Hollywood Balds, Michael “The Bomber” Facade vs CJ Sensation, Demolition vs The Powers of Pain, Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake vs Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, Marty Jannetty vs Virgil, John McChesney vs Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Abdullah the Butcher vs Tommy Rich, Dennis Gregory vs Ricky Reyes, a four-way tag team match, as well as an appearance by Jimmy Hart!
Two matches just added!
Shirley Doe & Super Hentai vs The Hollywood Balds
Former two-time IWC Heavyweight champion Shirley Doe teams up with a familiar face as he and Hentai battle the Hollywood Balds. The Balds, comprised of Jimmy Demarco and Vendetta, have made life miserable for Doe and Hentai in recent months, and will look to continue the torment on April 12.
Pre-show Attraction
Michael “The Bomber” Facade vs CJ Sensation
After being put out of action by the Family, Michael Facade has just been cleared to return to the ring. With his tag partner Johnny Gargano already occupied, “The Bomber” will return to singles action against CJ Sensation in this pre-show contest.
Demolition vs The Powers of Pain:
Ax and Smash, the original members of Demolition and three-time World Wrestling Federation tag team champions, square off against former WWF adversaries, the Warlord and the Barbarian, the Powers of Pain. Two of the most physically dominating tandems in wrestling history renew a rivalry of nearly 20 years. Although both the Warlord and Barbarian enjoyed successful careers as singles competitors, united they were nearly unstoppable. One team that did get the better of this powerful duo, however, was Demolition at WrestleMania V. With revenge on their minds, the Powers of Pain look to settle the score inside the IWC ring.
Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake vs Greg “The Hammer” Valentine
Former tag team partners do battle as the “Dream Team” fights for supremacy at the Night of Legends. Both men are noted singles competitors, as well as known for teaming with fellow legends (Valentine with the Honky Tonk Man, Beefcake with Hulk Hogan). Each man will look to utilize his finishing submission, as Beefcake will attempt to lock in his sleeper, while Valentine will attempt to apply his figure-four. Whoever scores his submission hold first is likely to come out the victor.
Marty Jannetty vs Virgil
Two men who held championships in the WWF in the early 90’s will compete at the Night of Legends, as Marty Jannetty and Virgil will lock horns. Jannetty, one half of the legendary tag team The Rockers, captured gold as the Intercontinental Champion by defeating his former partner and future Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels. Not to be outdone, Virgil won the Million Dollar Title from Ted Dibiase after rebelling against his former superior. While no titles will be on the line this time, bragging rights will be.
John McChesney vs Jake “The Snake” Roberts
On April 12, the legendary Jake the Snake will face perhaps a future legend, “Fabulous” John McChesney. Roberts, notorious for bringing his python Damian to the squared circle, also is noted as the innovator of the DDT. His veteran prowess may give him the edge over his opponent, but McChesney will be highly motivated, as he must win this contest to qualify for the Super Indy VII tournament.
Abdullah the Butcher vs Tommy Rich
Two legends each with over 30 years experience do battle as the hardcore legend Abdullah the Butcher takes on former NWA champion Tommy Rich. Abdullah is internationally notorious for his violent and brutal matches, therefore Tommy Rich may fall victim to his assault at the Night of Legends.
Dennis Gregory vs Ricky Reyes
Two former IWC champions rekindle their rivalry from nearly a year ago, as Ricky Reyes is out to exact revenge on Dennis Gregory. Reyes, the Havana Pitbull, was cheated out of the title by Gregory on multiple occasions, and while he cannot regain his championship in this contest, he can get payback while also building momentum towards his appearance in Super Indy VII.
Four-Way Tag: Babyface Fire vs Sexual Harassment vs The Gambino Brothers vs Johnny Gargano & Raymond Rowe
The Tag Team champions Babyface Fire would’ve had their hands full in their originally scheduled non-title contest against Sexual Harassment. By popular demand, however, two more teams have been added to the mix to create an exciting four-way tag. The Gambino Brothers join Johnny Gargano and his partner Raymond Rowe, who was recruited to fill in for the injured Bomber Michael Facade. While their belts will not be at stake, Babyface Fire may be facing their toughest challenge to date in this encounter.
Also Appearing: “The Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart
Renowned manager and WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Hart will be appearing at the Night of Legends. Known for his trademark megaphone, Hart managed some of the greatest stars in wrestling history, including Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, the Hart Foundation, The Nasty Boys, Rick Rude and the Honky Tonk
Tickets can be reserved safely and securely online using your credit or debit card by visiting IWCwrestling.com, or by calling 412-542-5170.
