NWA Anarchy TV Report by Ca$hFlowX

Episode 124

June 30, 2008

Word of warning when experimenting with fireworks: don’t self-inflict a crimson mask.

WRESTLING: (n.) \’res-ling\ A sport of contest in which two individuals face off in unarmed combat.

ANARCHY: (n.) \an-ar-key\ (1) A state of lawlessness due to absence of authority. (2) A complete lack of order.

What happens when you mix the two together? NWA-Anarchy!

- Welcome to NWA Anarchy Wrestling, this is PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING~! Last week on NWA Anarchy TV, Hayden Young wrestled NWA Anarchy TV Champion Truitt Fields to a ten minute draw. Jeff Lewis added color commentary before issuing an open challenge to Fields to a rematch. Young created a discrepancy between the two parties by contending he is the #1 contender. Fields told them to figure it out amongst themselves. The NWA Anarchy Tag Team Champions the Devil’s Rejects finally rid themselves of the pesky Wild Bunch with special thanks to Staff of Righteousness. As a result, the Hollywood Brunettes and the New Wave will face off to determine the #1 contender. Jeff G Bailey will offer words of wisdom geared towards the Reverend and the NWA Elite will be in action. In the main event, the Konkrete Gorillas battle Shadow Jackson & Slim J.

1. “Numero Uno” Chad Parham pinned “the Winner of the Parham Bump” Malachi to retain the Certificate of Awesomeness.

Early on, Parham ends up on the receiving end of the Malachi Bump. After commercial, Parham crotches himself on the middle rope. Malachi continues his onslaught with a powerslam, STO backbreaker and a DDT for a near fall. With the Certificate of Awesomeness in jeopardy of heading to Malachi, Parham disposes of Malachi with a well placed enziguri and leaping piledriver.

COMMENTS: Defending the Certificate of Awesomeness against unknowns and jobbers should lead to a big payoff. Parham has the persona to pull this gimmick off like Awesome Kong has with the $25,000 challenge.

- Jeremy Vain excuses Greg Hunter back to his broadcasting position. Mr. Vain believes that it’s the fans pleasure that he graces them with his awesome presence. However, it’s even a bigger pleasure that he was standing over Mikal Judas bloody carcass the past two weeks. Vain is prepared to move on with his life when suddenly the lights go out. Lo and behold, Judas has grown more massive in size. Alas, it’s only Mr. Rob Adonis. The lights flicker again and this time it’s the real thing. Judas issues a Confucius style proclamation, “Jeremy Vain, beware of too much laughter for it deadens the mind and produces oblivion.” Vain explodes and commands Judas to appear from thin air.

2. The New Wave (Derek Driver & Steven Walters) fought the Hollywood Brunettes (“the Wizard of Aaaaaaaaahs” Andrew Alexander & “Too Hot for Chikara” Kyle Matthews) to a no contest.

Talent & Money head out to observe the action and harass the Brunettes. After commercial, the Brunettes focus their attack on Driver. Driver slingshots himself back into the ring only to land on Alexander’s extended knee. Nice move. Walters receives the hot tag only to slip on the rope to the Brunette’s amusement. Walters recovers nicely by manhandling the Brunettes. This turns into a pure brawl when Walters sends Alexander flying into JT Talent. A melee ensues outside with several tag teams. The New Wave wipes out everyone with dualing dives. The referee calls for the bell to announce there are no #1 contenders.

COMMENTS: Why did the New Wave dive on everyone when they would have won the match via countout?

- Bailey reveals the identity of Song Pak Du Kim as Kimo. He is the former bodyguard of the almighty dictator of North Korea Kim Jong-il. Bailey has rectified the situation for Kimo to slaughter the opposition. Bailey reveals Wilson was forced to head back to the Compound to reexamine his life and stare into the face of God only to find out that God hates him. As a result, Bailey has petitioned the Championship Committee for Shatter to have a rematch with Iceberg for the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Title. Bailey dons Kimo the Korean Assassin with all the teeny-boppers cheering for him.

3. The NWA Elite (Shatter & “I Ate North Korea’s Entire Nuclear Arsenal” Kimo) w/Jeff G Bailey slaughtered Collateral Damage (“the Japanese Bumblebee” Yoshi Hiroshima & Bo Newsome & Jay Clinton & TK Kross.

This was complete and utter destruction. It’s the closest you’ll find a natural disaster in professional wrestling. The NWA Elite used dualing military press slams on Kross & Newsome so that they collide in air like two fighter jets. Clinton receives PTSD. Ditto for Hiroshima. The carnage ends with Kimo uncling Newsome.

COMMENTS: This makes me wish the Mulkey Brothers were still around.

- After Bailey leads the Elite back to the locker room, NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion Iceberg lays waste to the waste. The NWA Elite return to protest the Devil’s Rejects, but the NWA Anarchy Tag Team Champions Shaun Tempers & Azreal head out. Security heads out to separate everyone as Bailey & Wilson. Iceberg, tired of Bailey’s shenanigans, delivers the Ground Xero splash to the collateral damage. Even after the Elite is escorted back to the locker room, Iceberg crushes Newsome with the Ground Xero splash.

4. Shadow Jackson & Slim J defeated the Konkrete Gorillas (Nemesis & Jay Fury).

The crowd chants “Shadowmania” and he responds by manhandling Fury. The Gorillas immediately take over with Nemesis landing a knee to Slim’s back, a Fury single leg kick and a Fury German release suplex. The crowd chants “We want Shadow” as Slim takes a be= ating. J eventually fights back with a nice rope assisted head scissors takedown, but Fury ducks an enziguri and channels Low Ki with a double stomp to Slim’s back. After commercial, the Gorillas continue to deliver brutal punishment to Slim. Slim slithers out of a suplex and takes Fury down with a joke. Slim crawls to his corner to make the hot tag to Shadow. Shadow destroys Fury with 10-31. Shadow makes the cover, but the cowardly Nemesis nails him from behind. Shadow shrugs it off and Nemesis realizes he has pissed off the wrong brother. Fury catches Shadow bouncing off the ropes with the EnziFury. Nemesis seizes the opening and smashes Shadow’s head with the remains of the Benefactor’s cup trophy. Nemesis bloodies Jackson beyond belief. Fury stands on Slim’s back to choke him on the bottom rope. The crowd chants “Shadowmania,” but it’s to no avail. The Gorillas brandish handcuffs to Johnson’s delight. Nemesis sends Fury to the back to bring back a noose. Oh nuts, we’re going to have us a hanging! Fury mounts the middle ropes, places the noose around Slim’s neck and Fury hands Slim with Nemesis forcing Jackson to watch. NWA Owner Jerry Palmer and security head out to stop the madness.

COMMENTS: All man, this feud is piping hot.

- Backstage, Nemesis displays his palm with Shadow’s blood for the second time. Obviously, Shadow received a massive beating for returning too soon. Fury laughs that Shadowmania is leaking and “the Pest” Slim J got hung. Good promo.

- Palmer checks on a bloodified Shadow. Shadow wants Nemesis like nothing else and promises to lick his own blood like candy.

OVERALL: This episode demonstrated on what NWA Anarchy does right: headliners in intriguing feuds and building midcard talent (though mostly with the tag division). The show ended piping hot with the Gorillas against NWA Anarchy’s top two faces. With a potential rekindling of the NWA Elite vs. the Devil’s Rejects feud, this promises to be a hot summer.

July 3, 2008 NWA GCW PHENIX CITY, AL SHOW REPORT by LARRY GOODMAN

Great Championship Wrestling ran the Gr8 Sk8 Plex in Phenix City, Alabama Thursday night featuring an 8-man tournament to determine the number one contender for the GCW Title.

Over the last few years, I’ve been as brutally honest in my coverage of GCW as any promotion in Georgia. So allow me to be brutally honest. They put on a terrific old school show last night. Top to bottom, the best I’ve seen in Phenix City. Their talent has never been better. The booking has gotten progressively better, with last night’s show being a stellar example. When you can entertain your fans with interesting stories, and do it in a way that allows the wrestlers to avoid unnecessary physical risks, so much the better.

GCW has built a passionate fan base during the last 6 months, something that had been sorely lacking since the move to Phenix City. This crowd is into to all the characters and stories, and they pop for their favorites’ trademark moves. They had 225 in the building last night, and the Thursday night shows have been drawing a steady 200-250 a weekNot too shabby, especially when you consider that the company owns the building and gets all merchandise and concession sales.

Ring announcer Taylor McKnight announced that J-Rod beat Cru Jones for the GCW Interstate Title last Saturday night at their debut show in Villa Rica. The closing seconds were shown on the video screen.

It was on to the opening round of the Red White and Bruise Tournament ordered by “50% owner of GCW” Diane Hewes (the other 50% being owned by her arch enemy, Quentin Michaels). Winner to earn a title shot on July 10.

(1) Murder One (with Wicked Nemesis) beat John Bogie in 5:14. It was Bogie on fire until M-1 cut him off with a double thrust to the throat, and the BMF beatdown was on. M-1 busted out a senton back splash even. Nemesis got into the act. Bogie made his comeback. I think he got a near fall. In any case, M-1 ended it with an RKO. Just what it needed it to be and nothing more.

(2) David Young beat Orion Bishop (with Wicked Nemesis) in 5:09. In a classic display of impaired judgment, an inebriated fan jumped the rail on prior to the match. That’s never a good idea, but Bishop was about the worst choice this dude could have made. Nemesis split his wig with a cane shot, laying the back of his head wide open, and then Bishop manhandled him – a perfect display of why thou shall not mess with pro wrestlers. It would have put a smile on Ole Anderson’s face. It really got Bishop’s juices flowing. He was all over Young. Bishop did his signature fallaway slam. Nobody does it better. He got a close near fall with a stunner. Nemesis instructed him to hook the leg. Bishop’s leg drop turned into a gigantic ass drop. Young’s enzuigiri to the deltoids started his comeback. Nemesis grabbed Young’s leg. Bishop charged. Young stepped aside and Bishop gored Nemesis off the apron. Spinebuster for the three count.

Young told the fans he ended up with a serious infection from the incident last week where Sonny Siaki put him through a table. He said the doctor’s had to cut on his back and leave it open for 3 days. He ripped his shirt off to reveal a huge bandage on his back.

(3) Cru Jones beat Scotty Beach in 13:13. Beach got a solid pop. Still, it’s gotta suck to be the number two beach boy with Micah Taylor now ensconced at the top of the card. Slow start to this one, as Jones did muscle poses and kept going to the ropes. The story was Beach’s inability to connect on his big moves. Beach went flying into the corner and ended up crotched on the middle turnbuckle. Jones zeroed in with a European forearm to Beach’s back and took over. Lots of near falls. Jones used a Tully Blanchard slingshot suplex for one of them. When Beach kicked out of a sitout slam, Jones took his frustrations out on ref Donnie DeMarco. Beach caused Cru to miss a flying elbow drop, and made a Dusty style bionic comeback. But Scotty missed with the Beach Balls, and Jones nailed him with great Pounce for the three count. I like that Jones beat him clean, but Beach gave him a tough fight and wasn’t booked to look weak.

(4) Shaun Banks (with Cru Jones) beat J-Rod via DQ in 12:07. A fine match. You had a great innovator of babyface spots in J-Rod and an awesome bump taker in Banks. J-Rod hiptossed Banks into the tree of woe. J-Rod dodged a monkey flip by Banks and hit one of his own. J-Rod did a series of five hiptosses, clotheslined Banks over the top and hit a slingshot crossbody block. Jones tried a sneak attack, but J-Rod dropkicked Banks into him. Finally, Banks dropped a knee to the nuts, as Jones distracted ref Jeff McGowan. Banks used a Mutalock. The crowd got into J-Rod’s struggle for the ropes break. They did a unique spot where Banks bounced J-Rod’s head off the bottom buckle as he was seated facing the corner. Banks applied a camel clutch. J-Rod powered up to his feet and planted Banks electric chair style for the double down. J-Rod channeled Masked Superstar on a lariat. McGowan got bumped. Jones waffled Banks with a chair. McGowan saw it and DQed J-Rod for outside interference.

Banks was not happy with Jones. They= ’ve been having issues ever since Jones sacrificed Banks when they regained the tag titles, and now it was going to be partner vs. partner in the semis. Cool.

Before the semifinal round commenced, Princeton Gainey III cut a promo. This was hilarious. Gainey is this little, tiny black guy in a huge top hat. He uses the theme from “The Jefferson’s” as his entrance music. He did a short joke about a party to be attended by Scott East, the diminutive promoter of SECW, who recently announced plans to run Columbus (possibly to retaliate for GCW running East’s hometown of Villa Rica). McKnight, he of the shiny hair and oversized suit, said any party East was attending would be held in a soup kitchen. The point of the promo was that Gainey had negotiated permission from Quentin Michaels to entice Zero Tolerance to leave Michaels Inc. for Gainey’s Winner’s Club. Gainey used made a life is like a box of chocolates analogy, and the crowd called him Willy Wonka. Gainey promised Zero they could make big bucks.

(5) David Young beat Murder One (with Wicked Nemesis) in 8:12. M-1 jumped Young before the bell, and we had BMF Beatdown part two. M-1 gets excellent heat. Young had to grab the ropes to save himself from being pinned. M-1 dumped Young so Nemesis could kick him while he was down. Young got a pop with a furious windmill punching comeback, but M-1 cut him off with a Spinesplitta. Young hit another, better enzuigiri and pinned M-1 with the spinebuster.

(6) Cru Jones beat Shaun Banks in 11:04. This was a semi-friendly game of one-upmanship with the object being to see who was more devious cheater. Jones kicked Banks in the ass to go up 1-0. Banks took a comical banana peel bump on a botched attempt to return the favor. And so on. Banks popped the crowd with a slingshot leg drop. Moments later, Jones’ knee went out. Referee DeMarco gave the X signal. McKnight followed suit. Referee McGowan came out and they carefully removed Jones’ knee brace. Banks wanted a closer look, and Jones cradled him for a very quick three count by DeMarco. Jones jumped up to celebrate the win. Then he remembered he was supposed to be injured and went down like he had been shot in the knee. Too late. Banks caught on to the fakery. End result was the distrust between the partners in Hot Like Lava reached new heights.

(7) Cru Jones beat David Young to become contender numero uno for the GCW Championship (12:58). Jones asked for silence. The crowd whipped up a “David” chant. Jones used tights and the crowd stooged it off to the ref. “Help me out here, “ he said. Young caught Jones in a series of pinning combinations. Jones took a TO. Cru finally got the advantage and worked over Young’s back. Young did the enzuigiri out of the blue for the third time tonight. You would think Jones would be looking for it. Big lariat by Cru for a near fall. Young walked into a leg lariat for a long two count. Spinebustah! McGowan’s count reach five before Young could make a crawling one arm cover. Jones kicked out. Young’s made charge into the corner came up empty, and Jones rolled him up using the tights.

So it looked like either a title change in the main event or it would be heel vs. heel next for the title next week. I should have known it wouldn’t be that simple.

(8) The GCW Championship match between Johnny Swinger (c) and Micah Taylor ended in a disputed finish with the title held up (14:35). Swinger and Michaels Inc. won the services of Tracy Taylor in a match back on June 5. The latest chapter in the Hewes/Michaels saga saw Hewes name Tracy as the special referee for this match. Tracy came out wearing short shorts and a ref shirt. Micah’s entrance got a great pop. He’s gotten way over since returning to GCW two months ago. Before the match got underway, McKnight announced that Michaels had named himself as the special outside enforcer. Michaels came out wearing a ref shirt. Tracy checked Swinger and found a set of brass knucks in his tights. Swinger kept going to the ropes. He accused Tracy of being biased. Michaels instigated a verbal dispute with Micah. Swinger tried to capitalize, but Micah nailed him with a haymaker. Swinger put a leg on the ropes. Micah had seen enough ropes breaks. He grabbed the leg and worked over Swinger’s knee. Tracy pulled Swinger’s hair to stop his cheating. Swinger threatened to pop her. Meanwhile, the weaselly Michaels “enforced” on Micah, and Swinger posted him. Back inside, they traded some grade A punches. Swinger stomped Micah low and locked in a sleeper. The highlight of Micah’s comeback was a unique springboard elbow off the bottom rope. Swinger ran Micah into Tracy. She went down in a heap, and Michaels took over as referee. A wild finish ensued. Micah hit the Wipeout on Swinger. Michaels counted two and clutched his shoulder in fake pain. Michaels made a second super slow count, and Swinger was able to roll a shoulder. Swinger rolled Micah up and Michaels fast counted, but Micah managed to kick out. Micah hit a German suplex. Michaels made the three count, and the crowd popped huge thinking Micah had won the title. But Michaels raised Swinger’s hand. Micah clocked Swinger. Tracy snatched the belt and raised Micah’s hand. Michaels argued with Tracy. Swinger got the belt back from Micah and ran away. Michaels dragged Tracy to the back. McKnight announced that the title was being held up and told the fans to check the GCW website for an update.

NOTES: GCW returns to Villa Rica on July 19 at the Gold Dust Recreation Center (God, I love that name), 646 Industrial Boulevard…Bishop gets around. He worked the United Wrestling Association show for Bert Prentice Tuesday night in Seymour, Tn (suburb of Knoxville)…McKnight announced that the entire Villa Rica card would be available for viewing on gcwaction.com sometime today…Swinger celebrated his 33rd birthday at the show.

6/21 NWA Main Event TV Review

by Larry Goodman on 6/30/2008

Deputy Commissioner Gordon was outside the Mecca with the amazing Gypsy Joe, age 74. Gordon asked Joe why he was there. “I come here because they tell me this is the best show that is going in town, and they sawing through the competition.” The bulbous head of Jack Johnson appeared out of nowhere. “Sawing through the competition. If it ain’t NWA, it ain’t wrestling.”

Right to the first of many ad for Slam Jam 2008 tonight at the Fairgrounds Sports Arena. The stip for the NWA Mid-America Title match between Marc Anthony and “Atomic Dogg” Ali Stevens was revealed –a dog collar match. The Battle Royal was now listed as rumble rules.

Shane “Biggie” Smalls was seated at a kitchen table with Enforcer Jeff Daniels. On the table was a Mid-America Television Title trophy commemorating Daniels’ as the longest reigning champion. It was a replica of a Greco Roman wrestling sculpture – the one that always appeared in the opening of the Memphis wrestling show. Daniels said a new TV champion would be crowned in a few short hours at Slam Jam 2008. Daniels said that title was near and dear to his heart because he was the one who retired it. Smalls said he was looking forward to winning the TV title and hoped he could defend it in a manner that would do Daniels proud.

(1) Kid Nickels beat Greg King Jr. in 6:07. On commentary, Jason James and Tyler did the hard sell for Slam Jam. James said the show would not be filmed for television. Clemens couldn’t wait to find out the stipulation for Anthony/Stevens to be announced during the contract signing later in the show. Clemens said King had a win over the champion (a DQ where he got completely trashed). Nickels was getting outwrestled, so he went the rough stuff and hit an Angle Slam to start the heat. Clemens redeemed himself here. “He may not have won any gold medals but that was a heck of suplex slam.” King kicked out of a sidewalk slam. King crashed and burned on a twisting crossbody. Nickels kept grounding King with a chinlock. King broke free with a jawbreaker. King’s comeback built to a high monkey flip. King went for another one. Nickels blocked it and got the pin with his feet all over the ropes.

King and Nickels each cut promos for their rematch on June 24. King said he got cheated and there would be no more fast ones. Nickels said King was crying like a baby and he didn’t care, because he would do it again. Nickels said he was not the same wholesome Kid Nickels. A kid Nickels is not. A sailor that spent too long at sea maybe.

Daniels was at the table with Steve-O. Daniels reiterated his storied history with the TV title. O said Daniels was a great competitor but that was way back in the day. “Jeff Daniels, This is 2008. This isn’t back in the day. Steve O will be your new NWA Mid-America Television Champion.” O patted Daniels on the shoulder and left. “We’ll just see who you draw first round,” said Daniels.

(2) White Tiger pinned Steven Green at 3:40 with the loaded mask. This was back and forth babyface vs. babyface. Green dominated. Tiger begged off. Green mounted the ropes for the 10 punches. As ref Jerry Ryman admonished Green for climbing on the ropes (?), Tiger loaded up his mask. “I don’t think that was a cold compress either,” said Clemens. Tiger headbutted Green for the pin. Tiger slipped the object back into his tights. Suffice to say Tiger is no Houdini.

Damien Payne ran out to congratulate Tiger on turning to the dark side, but before he could raise Tiger’s hand, he took a classic slipped-on-banana peel fall.

We saw LT Falk in the parking lot of the Fairgrounds Arena hyping the revival of the Mid-America Television Title at Slam Jam ’08 - “I’m in it to win it.”

(3) Steve-O beat Shank “The Freak” Barzini (with Uncle Walter Barzini). JIP with Barzini getting heat on O. The last 2:30 aired. Clemens said it had been confirmed that Ryman knew how to count to three. James said if he had to count to four they might be in trouble. Comical finish. Barzini did a leapfrog that was a hop rather than a leap. Give O credit for getting low enough to survive it. O nailed a superkick for the pin, but for the second week in a row, he landed ass first after delivering the move.

Daniels was at the table with Falk. Daniels gave Falk the same lecture he gave to Smalls and O. Falk said Daniels was great back in the day, but he was going to be the new champion. Falk left. Daniels stroked his goatee. “Way back in the day?”

A cocky Steve-O wanted to know who he opponent was for tonight. Daniels said the reason O didn’t know was because of his smart attitude. Daniels told O that in order to get to the finals, he was going to have to dance with the devil himself – the former champion, Dante. O said that would be a perfect test to see if he’s ready for the top. “Oh, it will be a test,” said Daniels.

(4) Shane Smalls beat J. T. Lightning. JIP. James noted Daniels’ frustration with the way the TV Title situation was unfolding. James said nobody around NWA Main Event wanted to deal with a POed Daniels. James said Daniels title run was no means back in the day (the trophy said his reign ended in 2006). Lightning’s big moves were a Side Effect and a tornado DDT. There was a spot where Lightning was supposed to take a backdrop to the apron and didn’t make it, so he threw himself over the top rope. Lightning went for MVP’s Overdrive, and Smalls reversed into a spinning neckbreaker, Last Rites style, for the pin.

(5) Damien Payne pinned Andy Douglas in 7:06. Crowd large for Douglas at the start. As Douglas totally dominated Payne with basic wrestling, James and Clemens joked about taking a shot at being in the Gulas Memorial battle royal themselves. They talked about being in Lebanon for the NWA World Heavyweight Title match last Saturday. Everything but the match. Payne stepped aside on Douglas’ corner splash to seize the advantage. Payne zeroed in that thrashed rib area. Payne applied a body scissors for the longest time I’ve seen since I don’t know when. Douglas caught Payne with his head down and hit a hangman neckbreaker. Douglas used a downward spiral. Did that did ever look ugly. Payne rolled a shoulder at 2 and ½. Douglas hit a sitout butterfly facebuster. Payne shocked the announcers by kicking out of it. Payne ducked Douglas’ bull rush into the corner and rolled him up with his feet on the ropes.

Smalls cut a promo on Falk for tonight’s match in the semifinals of the NWA TV Title Tournament. The graphic said June 24.

James interviewed Tiger and Payne. James called Tiger’s actions “apprehensible.” Payne said he was going to end Douglas’ career on June 24.

Douglas called Payne’s win a fluke. Douglas said he handpicked Payne as his opponent, and Payne repaid him with disrespect. Douglas said he was pulling out his old tricks next week.

Gordon, Daniels and Scott Barry were all in the ring for the contract signing. Stevens came out. Charming Charles came out but no Anthony. Charles read the contract and refused to sign. Daniels told him sign or forfeit the title. Stevens was chomping at the bit to sign once he read that it was a dog collar match. Charles finally signed under great duress. Charles shoved Stevens, who grabbed him up by the collar. Daniels stepped in and Stevens collared him.

Cut to a close up of the NWA Mid-America title belt propped up on a toilet seat. A company of toy army men was spread across out across the toilet seat and two folded steel chairs. The camera pulled back to show Marc Anthony talking to his “men.” Anthony was wearing an army helmet and had a toilet plunger in his hand. Charles showed up in a panic and asked Anthony what he was doing. Anthony said he was addressing the masses. Charles informed about the dog collar match.

Gentleman, our D-Day is here. Tonight we storm the beaches of the Mecca, the Tennessee State Fairgrounds. Troops, you’re sole mission is to protect that belt. You need to make sure it comes home with my Uncle Charles.

Clutching the belt to his chest, Charles said Stevens wasn’t taking it. Anthony blew his army to smithereens with a one swift kick. “The only thing you people, and you (Charles), and everybody in the world need to worry about, Uncle Charles, is that when all is said and done tonight, that belt is going to be around your waist, and the following week I shall return.” Anthony saluted and barked into the toilet plunger. Charles did the “crazier than an outhouse rat” line.

(6) Eric Wayne beat LT Falk to win the NWA Mid-America X Division Title. JIP with Wayne in control, and the announce team hyping the TV Title Tournament one last time. Wayne measured Falk and missed with a long distance middle rope legdrop. Wayne stayed down grasping at his knee. Falk was up first. Wayne bumped huge for Falk’s comeback. A Falk enzuigiri knocked Wayne loopy. Wayne recovered to hit a Harley Race high knee for a near fall. Wayne hit a MONSTER sitout powerbomb. Falk made a miraculous kick out. The announce team went nuts about Falk’s intestinal fortitude. Falk went for a slingshot sunset flip from the apron, but Wayne grabbed the ropes and sat down. Referee Jamie Ferrari kicked Wayne’s hands, and Falk rolled through for a two count. Wayne reversed and used the ropes undetected to get the three count.

Cut to Gordon standing by with a pissed off Daniels. Daniels said he gave Stevens a dog collar match, and got snatched up by the collar for his troubles. Daniels said he was proud of being a former television champion, and for that, he got disrespected by Falk and Steve-O. Daniels said he was tired of the disrespect and if he had to slap people around, he would do it.

But you know what? Ha. Ha. Ha. You gotta remember one thing: If the Crippler don’t get ya, the pencil will.

Closing Thoughts: A fascinating show. They crammed a ton into one hour. It had by far the best story of any of the four Main Events episodes I’ve seen. There was nothing special about the wrestling, and some it was pretty bad. Booker Jeff Daniels did a hell of a job building interest in the TV Title tournament in one hour to where in my mind, it became more a compelling reason to attend Slam Jam than the main event. Daniels becoming a major on screen force is a huge plus in my book. His facial expressions were awesome. He’s a great talker, which is a real weakness here because the great majority of workers are so young and short on mic experience. Anthony put on another amazing performance in this week’s vignette. He is way, way out there. What kind of a mind comes up with stuff like that? I love they way Charles, a pretty nutty dude in his own right, is the saner of the two. It was criminal to beat Douglas in his first singles match since returning to Main Event. If they’re not careful, he will become just another guy. Yeah, Payne badly needed a win, but not over the only talent in the promotion that has appeared on national television. The lack of top level guys for Douglas to feud with points out the lack of depth on the heel side. The return of Dante should shore that up, as will Daniels’ impending return to the ring. They need to go into more depth about Dante’s significance. Newer viewers would have no idea. The opener between Nickels and King was the smoothest wrestling on the show. O had another average performance, and he got no help from Barzini. I haven’t seen any of O’s work prior to this string of shows, but King looked to be the more pushable of the two based on inring sk= ill. O was such a jerk in the segment with Daniels that I was hoping he would turn heel. Green/Tiger was forgettable indietastic fare (except for Payne falling down). Ditto for Smalls/Lightning. Falk and Wayne had a good match, at least the part that aired. They had good reason to get the X Division belt off of Falk based on the direction they were headed, but making the switch with no fanfare made it seem like a secondary belt, especially in the midst of all the hoopla around the TV Title. Three singles titles is overkill in any case. The camera work was much better this week. The announcing, which is usually good, not so much.

NWA Wisconsin/ ICW
June 27, 2008
Liquor Sweets
Milwaukee, WI

Drake Younger defeated Mason W Quinn and became the NEW
ICW Heavyweight Champion. Drake and Quinn pulled out all the stops in this extreme rules match up. Drake defeated Quinn with a top rope powerbomb threw a chair and a stop sign!

Ego Fantastico (c) defeated Prince Ali to retain the NWA Midwest X-Division Title. Such a great hard hitting fast pced match up between these two. EGO has such a following with the ICW Crowd. This match went about 18 mins and the crowd loved every second of it.

Troy Walters defeated Justin Dredd and Mark Priebe

Cole Bishop defeats Mikey Dasheezits via pinfall after a Crucifix Powerbomb

Moondog Manson defeats Pink Panther via pinfall after a piledriver, retaining the ECCW Hardcore Title

-Post match, some reverend type character comes out and gets on the mic, who complains about the amount of sin in Vancouver, and offers Moondog Manson repentance for his sins. Moondog responds with a swift kick to the testicles.

Halo defeats El Phantasmo with a Keylock/Camel Clutch type submission.

-Post match, Halo attempts to cut Phantasmo’s mask off with a pair of scissors. Multiple nameless red-shirted ECCW guys attempt to stop Halo, but to no avail. CJ Strongheart and Danni Deeds manage to fend off the masked assailant. El Phantasmo proceeds to murder all nameless red-shirted ECCW guys, then goes after Deeds and Strongheart, scissors in hand. Phantasmo challenges Halo to a MASK VS MASK match, next show in Surrey.

Superfunk comes out, and talks about how this will be the Bon Jovi’s last chance to win the titles.

Superfunk defeats Los Bon Jovi’s via pinfall in a Texas Tornado match (All four participants legal at once) for the ECCW Tag Team Titles.

-Mid match, Kenny Lush comes out from the crowd and attempts to attack Verne Siebert, because Superfunk constantly cheat. Kenny Lush abuses more nameless red-shirted ECCW guys (Not a good night for them.), and Superfunk get the pin.

Chilltown (Azeem, SMac, Natural) talk about DK and Sid getting tag team gold, MEMPHIS RAINES getting a shot at the NWA CANADIAN HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE, and about Drew Savage. Drew comes out and introduces his tag team, the Bollywood Lions.

Gurv and Harv Sihra defeat Azeem/SMac by Pinfall after an elbow drop.

-Mid Match, Natural and Scotty are beating down one of the Sihras after the referee was knocked out cold by a stiff kick to the arm. Drew Savage hits Natural in the nuts, then Drew gets hit in the nuts, as far as I remember. Sweatervest comes out and gives SMac a Stunner. (Crowd fucking erupted for this!) Gurv then drops the elbow from the top, pin, 1, 2, 3.
