The TNA Roster’s Best & Worst!

The Kingfish Arnie Katz picks the best (and the worst) in each important category on today’s TNA roster!

It is not always obvious who truly excels in the wrestling show. A good ring worker can look bad if the matches are against poor wrestlers or they are booked poorly. A superstar could be good with the mic, but get a bad script. And, of course, there’s the matter of opportunity. Wrestlers who don’t get mic time don’t have much of a chance to show their oratorical skill.

That notwithstanding, it’s an intriguing question. I’ll be sharing my judgments in a series of three columns and plan to update it every two or three months.

This time, let’;s look at the perfromers in TNA.

Best with the Mic

1. Christian Cage –.

2. Kurt Angle –

3. Kevin Nash —

Most Improved: Gail Kim
Worst with the Mic: Rock n Rave Infection

Best in the Ring

1. Curryman (Christopher Daniels) –

2. Kurt Angle –

3. Jay Lethal –

Most Improved: Kaz
Worst in the Ring: Kevin Nash

The Best Look

1. Kaz –

2. LAX (with Salinas) —

3. Kurt Angle –.

Most Improved: Robert Roode
Worst Look: Shark Boy

Best Knockout in the Ring

1. Awesome Kong – She’s the consummate female power wrestler heel. I have yet to see her do less than her best, though TNA has made a few unwise match-ups. Her assortment of holds is excellent, with at least three that are eye-popping and unusual for a female competitor.

2. Gail Kim – She is the perfect babyface foil for Awesome Kong in that she always looks like the underdog. Kim walked a rocky road in WWE, but she is fluid and polished in her TNA matches,

3. ODB – She’s Dick the Bruiser with gazongas. She worked very hard in the ring and has a good repetoire of maneuvers, including some nice power moves. Her personality overshadowed. I think we haven’t yet seen her best work, but what she has done is very good.

Most Improved: Gail Kim
Worst Knockout in the Ring: Velvet Skye

That’s it for today. I’ll be back tomorrow with another installment of the Internet’s fastest-rising daily wrestling column.
