HeadLocker–Jay Shannon
The Next Wrestling Personality that could be in Playboy
Our resident philosopher, Jay Shannon, predicts which of wrestling’s women will be next for Playboy!
Professional wrestling has some of the most beautiful women in the world within it’s ranks. Unlike some of the women of years past, the new group of female competitors don’t look like linebackers in a dress. After seeing Maria’s pictures in the current edition of Playboy, I started thinking about who might be next to pose. In this edition of HeadLocker, I wanted to take a look at some of the top ladies and ponder if they’d be the right sort for Playboy. This column is written with the highest respect for all mentioned here.
Melina
Melina is a beautiful woman, no doubt. Her issue of Playboy would likely sell quite well. The reason that she wouldn’t pose would be a personal choice not to do the photos. I can respect that, completely. Melina has repeatedly claimed, on air, that she finds the concept of posing nude offensive. It is unclear if that is her true feeling or if it was scripted.
Odds of posing: 100 to 1
Tracy Brooks
She is one of the prettiest of the TNA Knockouts. Tracy has already posed for some racy photos that have appeared in wrestling magazines and on TNA’s official web site. The main reason that Tracy might not pose would be that Hefner’s people might not think that TNA audiences would generate enough buys. I feel that the issue would do well on the stands.
Odds of posing: 10 to 1
Mickie James
She has that “Girl-Next-Door” look that is so popular in Playboy. She would likely out-sell most of the other Divas that have posed. She has a more natural body type. Her body doesn’t seem to be “enhanced” the way some of the other Divas’ bodies are. She is my pick for the next Diva to bare all.
Odds of posing: 2 to 1
Stephanie McMahon
At one time, she would have been a top choice for Playboy. These days, it’s pretty much an impossibility that we will see her grace the pages. Why? There are several reasons. First, she’s a little too old. While some older women, such as Farrah Fawcett, have posed, the usual age of models is well under 30. Stephanie turns 32, later this year. Second, it is very unlikely that Vince and/or Paul Levesque (Triple H), her husband, would want her to pose. Third, Stephanie has taken herself so far out of the spotlight since the birth of Aurora Rose, that the marketability of a Stephanie McMahon issue would be questionable. Stephanie McMahon-Levesque is still one of the most beautiful women to ever enter wrestling but her opportunity to pose has, most likely, passed her by.
Odds of posing: 1000 to 1
Angelina Love (Angel Williams)
She is a beautiful blonde that wears skimpy outfits on TNA broadcasts. She would seem the perfect choice for a Knockout representative to strip off for the world to see. She is such a minor player in TNA, right now, that I doubt that she would be seriously considered for posing. She’s not a big enough star to warrant a full issue. She might find her way into a “Girls of TNA Wrestling” group shoot. If Playboy should decide to do the group work, then she would have to be in the mix.
Odds of posing: 20 to 1
Velvet Sky (Talia Madison)
LIke Tracy Brooks, Velvet has done plenty of scantily-clad photo shoots for magazines and web sites. Sadly, she hasn’t been elevated to top star, just yet. She is simply one of the “support staff” for the Knockout division. At this point, her best chance for a photo shoot would be with a grouping of Angelina Love, Tracy Brooks, Christy Hemme and one or two others.
Odds of posing: 20 to 1
Lillian Garcia
Liiian has a blossoming music career in front of her. She is being cast as a role model for young Latinas. It would be extremely counter-productive for Lillian to shed her clothing for Playboy. Many men, myself included, would love to see a photo spread of Lillian, but it just isn’t going to happen. Lillian would risk too much if she bared all.
Odds of posing: 250 to 1
Roxxi Laveaux
The girl has a lovely face but she just doesn’t quite have the body for Playboy. I mean no disrespect with the following comparison. Roxxi reminds me of a really thin stripper that I knew in my younger days. Starshine (her stage name) was a sweet kid that just failed miserably at stripping because of her thinness. I think Roxxi would be in the same boat. She might be great to meet, have dinner with, and get to know as a person. It’s really unlikely that many men would want to see her in Playboy.
Odds of posing: 100 to 1
Kelly Kelly
The Extreme Diva’s character has been an exhibitionist since day one. It seems logical that she’d want to do Playboy. She has the perfect look for the magazine, as well. I’m actually surprised that she wasn’t tapped to pose already. It is possible that Kelly would need to become a slightly bigger star in WWE before the people at Playboy would use her. Depending on where she goes within the WWE, I can’t see Kelly not baring her body for all the world to see.
Odds of posing: 3 to 1
Salinas
Shelly Martinez tried out to be the next Elvira. She has a fantastic body and might be perfect for Playboy. The only stumbling block might be her tattooes. Playboy has been somewhat hesitant to display body art in its photographs. She just might be the trailblazer that could change all that.
Odds of posing: 15 to 1
Maryse
She has a similar body type to Torrie Wilson, a alumnus of the Playboy pages. Maryse just oozes sensuality. The only thing holding her back is her limited recognition by fans. Unless she were to disappear from the WWE, it’s almost a lock that she will be in Playboy in the future.
Odds of Posing: 2 to 1
In Conclusion:
There are dozens of women that I didn’t profile here. Anyone one of a dozen more (Nattie Neidhart, Cherry, Gail Kim, etc…) might be considered for the pages of Playboy. The women I’ve listed above are my personal list of women that I would want to see in Playboy, even Roxxi. I feel each one is beautiful for different reasons and Playboy is a showcase for the celebration of beauty.
