El Generico Vs. Josh Prohibition

For close to one year now Josh Prohibition has been tearing through all challengers. Frustrated with Prohibition’s winning streak, management has been contacting some of the worlds top wrestlers in hopes to end his reign as Canadian Champion. One man who hopes to accomplish this task is the one and only El Generico. The last time Generico graced a UWA ring was on January, 13 2006. That night Generico had an unforgettable match up with Blackout’s Sabian. Since then Generico has shocked wrestling fans by scoring incredible victories all of the world and capturing some of wrestling most prestigious titles. Generico has unquestionable gained respect not only from his fans but also by his pears.

Prohibition and Generico are definitely not strangers to one another. The last time these two men met was almost two years ago at UWA’s A Time for Respect. On that night Generico fought Prohibition for the coveted, UWA Light Weight Title. Generico close to becoming the new champion came up short only due to interferences by Lionel Knight. Generico’s long-time friend and tag partner Kevin Steen has gone on record saying “he will due everything in his power to ensure Generico has a fare shot at the title.” Let’s hope history does not repeat itself and Generico can indeed defeat Prohibition for the title this time.

Up In Smoke VS. Josh Abercrombie and ????

This year Josh Abercrombie has truly won the favour of UWA fans and management alike. Abercrombie has had several incredible matches this year and has yet to receive the opportunity to wrestle for any of our prestigious titles. Last month Abercrombie had a show stealing match with Dan Paysan and came just short of victory. In early August, management received a call from Abercrombie requesting a shot at the UWA Tag Champions, Cheech and Cloudy. Abercrombie assured us that he had a partner worthy of wrestling for the titles. He would not, however, release the name of his mystery tag partner. Management, hesitant to book this mystery guest, did give into Abercrombie’s request and granted him his tag title match. Cheech and Cloudy definitely have a severe disadvantage going into this match as they cannot properly scout the team they must face. After working so hard to earn their titles, their reign might come to a quick end at the hands of Josh Abercrombie and his surprise tag partner.

Return of the Blackout

For the past few months one question has stayed consistent among UWA fans. And that question is, what has happened to the Blackout? The Blackout made their first UWA appearances back in September of 2006 and since then they have given us some amazing memories and matches. Sabian and Joker are without question two of the most brutal men to ever step foot inside the squared circle. These two men demonstrate wrestling in its most violent form as they show little to no regard for their opponents. UWA fans will never forget the night they fought Nick Watts and Jeff Flury for the tag titles. During this match Sabian and Joker absolutely brutalized the former champions with their brutal strikes, kicks, and submissions thus allowing them to become the new champions.

After several successful title defences in 2007 the Blackout disappeared from the UWA roster without a trace. To date, management has yet to officially say why the Blackout were released and stripped of their championship belts. In recent weeks the Blackout has been in contact with our office. Management and the Blackout have been able to successfully renegotiate their positions in our company and will be returning in September. Sabian and Joker have officially requested a match against their long time rival Asylum and his new tag partner Matt Burns. Last Friday Sabian was quoted saying “me and Joker will do everything in our power to make an example of the Flat Liners and show them the true nature of Chocolate City violence.” If Sabian and Joker are successful in September they will undoubtedly be next in line to face the tag champions. This will be a true test for the newly formed Flat Liners as they have not faced a team like the Blackout before. Rest assured UWA fans, this match will be one of the most violent matches of 2007.

Cleveland’s Top Prospect Debuts

Despite being just 20 years of age, Johnny Gargano is possibly the most talented prospect to come out of Cleveland, Ohio since MDogg20 and Josh Prohibition made their professional debuts in 2001. Already he has proven himself a prodigy who is wise beyond his years, and an excellent mat wrestler. Only thing holding him back is a rapidly-growing ego which is only being fueled by his friendship with fellow Cleveland native Josh Prohibition. He has held his own in the ring with men such as Christopher Daniels and Nigel McGuiness, and holds victories over Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Zach Gowen, and M-Dogg 20. Gargano has already had remarkable success in the less than two years in the sport, and the scary thing is his best years are still far, far ahead of him. He will make his Canadian debut against Dangerboy Derek Wylde and Rip on September 21st.
