National Wrestling Superstars: Day Camp Event!

Kids & counselors cheer NWS stars!

National Wrestling Superstars, fresh off another successful event in Seaside Heights last Thursday quickly returned to action on Monday, August 6th at a Day Camp Event in South-Central NJ. The event, a first for the camp saw over 800 kids and counselors surround the ring to cheer the heroes and boo the villains and were totally shocked at the end of the event when counselors and staff got involved in the main event.

Results:
Wasted Youth was the first wrestler everyone at the camp saw and didn’t know whether to cheer or boo him. It was quite obvious from his arrogance that he didn’t care about the crowd and the crowd showed their disdain for this wrestler trying to move his way into the NWS rankings. After totally ignoring everyone, his opponent, J.R. Johnson was announced. Johnson, from North Carolina was planning on ruining Wasted Youth’s plans to climb the ranks, but Youth took it to the NWS newcomer and came away with a victory.

The next match saw the usual NWS “curtain jerker” J.D. Smooth in a strange place on the NWS event… appearing in the second bout (instead of the first) as he was escorted to the ring by the Evil Elvis (his manager for the day). Both Smooth and Elvis started pushing referee Kenny Edwards around before Edwards fought back and pushed both Smooth and Elvis to the mat. While arguing with NWS officials, his opponents music played and out came the 400+ NWS Odd-It-Tee, Goal-Duh. Once the action got started, it was a two on one with Smooth and Elvis beating down the 400+ monster. After several minutes, Goal-Duh had enough and chased both of his tormentors around the ring before throwing Smooth back in. As Goal-Duh went for a suplex to bring Smooth into the ring, Elvis grabbed his foot and held on as Smooth got the pin.

The third bout saw a battle of the masked warriors featuring Japan’s Saibootsie taking on Puerto Rican star Antonio Malave. The kids loved Malave with screams of “Antonio Antonio” rocking the campgrounds. This infuriated the Japanese star who asked the ring announcer to tell the fans not to yell “boo” (a story out of his past). The two masked stars wrestled for nearly 14 minutes before Malave hit a “619″ on his opponent and scored the pin. The kids and counselors somehow knew the 619 was coming and went wild when Malave hit the move.

After a 15 minutes intermission where all the fans met the wrestlers and received autographs, it was time for the main event which featured The Evil Bullies (S. Insane and Prince Camel) taking on favorite’s Mikey Pacifica and his tag partner, former NWS Jersey Shore champion Nicky Oceans. Both teams were accompanied to ringside by counselors whose job was to keep the kids back from the ring and cheer on their favorite wrestlers. Oceans and Pacifica (not to be confused with the Pacific Ocean) did surprisingly well against their much larger opponents and at one point looked to have the match won. However, Insane and the Prince went outside the ring and were quickly followed by Oceans and Pacifica. Oceans, kicking and punching Insane, told the counselors to “attack”, which caused total chaos as two wrestlers who were cheering Insane and the Prince all started to fight. While the referee disqualified both teams, the head of the counselors, Coach Andy used the situation to announce the start of the Color Wars at the camp and teams were selected (blue and red) for battles over the next week.

Next NWS event: Thursday, August 16 in Seaside Heights (minutes from the GS Pkwy) featuring Tito Santana. For information call 732-888-1704 or visit www.nwswrestling.com
