Neico recaptures PWA Heavyweight Title!
Booker T’s PWA Clash Of Champions
Booker T’s PWA held their 7th show of the year entitled Clash Of Champions at The Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, Texas. Attendance was up, around 600.
We begin the show with ring announcer Adrian, announcing Booker T. He comes to the ring along with Queen Sharmell. Booker started talking about how it has been a dream of his bringing back wrestling in Houston and that he is excited about it, at this point the whole PWA roster came down to ringside and congratulated him. Adrian then told Booker that on behalf of the fans and locker room they would like to present him a “champion title” of his own, and that he deserves it for all of his hard work. Audience started chanting “PWA” and “Thank You Booker”. Booker grabs the title and said that he is very, very, very thankful for it.
Next, Booker told the audience that TNA superstar BG James was supposed to be present tonight, but he called at the last minute saying that he had a family issue, but that he would not dissapoint the audience, and announced that TNA superstar AJ Styles will be appearing on the next show (August 31, 2007), pops for Styles. Also he said that 2 Cold Scorpio will be wrestling tonight, and that there was some changes in the card. First, the main event was originally BG James vs 2 Cold Scorpio, but it was changed to Mike Foxx vs 2 Cold Scorpio. Next Kryll vs “Perfect Enemy” was changed to The South African Connection vs The Trump Twins.
Finally, Adrian told the audience that the Hooter girls were going to show us the PWA belts, down comes the Hooter girls with the titles and posed with it to the crowd.
Now, on to the matches!
(1st Match) The Trump Twins (Max-A-Million & Richy Rich w/ “Lovely” Little Dollar) def. The South African Connection in the PWA Tag Team Tournament Semifinals.
By default, The South African Connection are back in the tournament (Due to changes in the card). A fan at ringside held a sign that said “The Trump Twins shop at Wal-Mart”. Match starts with Max & Anazi? (Didn’t catch his name), Anazi tried to work over Max’s arm. Max comes back to the arm of Anazi. Back and forth action between both teams, Max made a hot tag after he was getting heavily beaten up by The South Africans. Richy comes and closelines Anazi & his partner. Anazi’s partner goes to the outside, back in the ring Anazi is laying in the ground and Trump Twins do a Tree Of Woe/Running Senton combination to Anazi, he rolls to the outside. Richy gets Anazi’s partner back in the ring, takes him to the turnbuckle. Richy makes the tag to Max. Richy goes to the top rope, while Max picks up Anazi’s partner. Trump Twins then executed a powerbomb/blockbuster combination for the win.
(2nd Match) Cyrus w/ Lady Poison def. Devin
This was Devin’s first PWA match. Cyrus is 7ft tall (Similiar to The Great Khali) except he wears a mask. Match starts with Cyrus executing a chockeslam, followed by a powerbomb, goes for the cover and picked up the win.
(3rd Match) Neico def. Jared Steele to become the 1st Ever PWA Heavyweight Champion
This was the finals of the PWA Heavyweight Title Tournament. Match starts really quick with Jared trying to weaken Neico by using forearms and scoop slams. Neico comes back with his own forearms and scoop slams, irish whip to Jared by Neico. Neico comes charging to Jared but he moves out of the way now Jared works over Neico’s left arm. Later in the match a Belly-To-Belly Suplex was executed by Jared to Neico. He goes for the cover but only got a 2 count. After about a 3 minutes later of back and forth action, Neico closelines Jared which kept Jared in the ground. Neico goes for the top turnbuckle, as he looks at the audience Jared comes from behind and nailed a Top Rope Suplex to Neico. Jared went for the cover but only got a 2 count. Jared, frustrated picked up Neico, he worked over his left arm again, but Neico countered it with the “STF” submission move, crowd chants “Tap Out”, Jared tried to reach the rope but couldn’t so he tapped out. Neico picks up the win
Aftermath: Neico celebrated as the audience cheered for him, the commisioner of PWA Mr. Walkins comes out to the ring he said that he hates to be the “bad guy” for the night, but that Neico wasn’t the PWA Heavyweight Champion, because in his hand he had a medical release form stating that Chris Adams was medically clear to wrestle (He was out of action due to a concussion received 2 months ago by Dawg Chetum). Crowd started booing. Mr. Walkins then announces that later on tonight it would be Chris Adams vs Neico for the PWA Heavyweight Title, Neico was super tired and frustrated. Chris comes out, and tells Neico if he accepts his challenge. Neico responses stating that he worked his butt of just to win the PWA World Title and that he had one of his greatest matches of his career right now but that he never backed down. Neico then accepts the challenge and said that he can do it one more time.
We had intermission with a local band called “Useful Information”. They performed for about 10 minutes.
(4th Match) Kryll (AD & Creet w/ Lady Poison) def. The Trump Twins in the PWA Tag Team finals to become the 1st ever PWA Tag Team Champions
This was the finals of the “PWA Tag Team Tournament”. Before the match started the Hooter girls came to ringside to pick up ring gear, since they grabbed Kryll’s stuff, Lady Poison came and stared at them, she got closer and until Poison was in the face of one of the Hooter girls and almost started a catfight with one of them but it never happened. Match starts with Max & Creet. Max took controlled of the match. Creet comes back working on Max’s arm, Creet takes him to his team corner, a tag was made. A lot of double team moves to Max, this lasted about 5 minutes with Max really confused, he tried to make a tag to Richy but couldn’t because Kryll always stopped him by grabbing his legs. Finally Max makes the tag and Richy dominates Kryll sending them to the outside. Richy comes and executes a “Suicide Dive” to both members of Kryll on the outside, crowd started chanting “PWA”, Richy throws Kryll back to the ring, now he goes to the top rope and executed a moonsault on Kryll. Richy when for the pin to Creet but he kicked out. Later in the match, Max accidently knocked out the referee in the turnbuckle, with the referee down Kryll started dominating The Trump Twins. Creet grabs Max and Lady Poison gets on the apron and tried to spit “poison mist” to Max but even before Poison spit it out Max gets out of the way and pushes Creet which caused him to knock out Lady Poison to the outside. Now since Creet is on the outside, The Trump Twins are left with AD so Richy goes to the top rope and Max grabs AD and executed another powerbomb/blockbuster combination. Richy goes for the pin but the referee is still knocked out, this brings out Jason Hollier and starts beating up Richy and Max, he sends Richy to the outside, Jason then does a neckbreaker to Max. Jason leaves and the referee is back on his feet, Creet comes and pins Max and got the victory.
Aftermath: Kryll & Lady Poison w/ Jason Hollier celebrated with the titles.
(5th Match) 2 Cold Scorpio def. Mike Foxx
Mike was making fun of Scorpio in the beginning of the match. Scorpio gets the upperhand with martial arts kicks to Mike, this causes Mike to go the the outside. Crowd started booing , he comes back to the ring and played mind games with Scorpio. Finally both wrestlers start wrestling, with both guys getting the offensive/defensive moves. Finish came when Scorpio rolled up Mike and grabbed the ropes for the victory.
(6th Match) Neico def. Chris Adams to recapture the PWA Heavyweight Title
During Neico’s entrance a female fan was walking/prancing around the whole ringside chanting “Neico” and waving some wands that light up. Anyways both men seemed confident at the beginning. Chris plays mind games with Neico but that didn’t worked out, both men were really going at it with all their strength, at one point Chris executes the “3 Amigos” suplexes to Neico. After this he goes for a springboard moonsault but he botch it by slipping in the ropes. Crowd started chanting “You screwed Up” and laughing at Chris Adams, finally Neico applies the STF to Chris. Crowd then started chanting “Tap Out”, Chris tried to get to the ropes but couldn’t so he tapped out, the crowd went balistic as Neico celebrated.
Booker T comes out and congratulated Neico, backstage interviewer Johnny Bravo comes to the ring and does an interview to Neico. He says that he wants to thank the fans for supporting him and that he couldn’t have done it without them. Crowd started chanting “Neico” which ended the show.
Overall even though “BG James” wasn’t there, the crowd was hot all night, even with 6 matches on the card it was still a great event the audience had really fun. PWA returns to The Pasadena Convention Center on August 31, 2007 with TNA Superstar AJ Styles appearing. Schedule to appear are: PWA Heavyweight Champion Neico, PWA Tag Team Champions Kryll w/ Lady Poison and more to be announced.
