National Wrestling Superstars: Slam Vader Wins!

TNT wins choke slam challenge!

National Wrestling Superstars returned to Seaside Heights, NJ on Thursday night 7/19 for the second edition of “Shore Wars”. Despite the stormy weather, a complete sellout crowd packed the Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Parish Hall to see another night of hot NWS action.

J.D. Smooth defeated B. Fehrm.
The Delaware loudmouth Smooth took on another Delaware native making his NWS debut. Despite his small size and young appearance (which was made fun of by Smooth), Fehrm was determined to make a good showing in his first match. Unfortunately, the veteran Smooth made quick work of the rookie and pinned him after a back piledriver.

The Fighting Elvis came out to the ring, singing “Burning Love” to the crowd, and introduced another “king”, WWE WrestleMania legend King Kong Bundy. Bundy announced to the crowd that he is recovering from foot surgery and could not wrestle The Equalizer than night. But as he was about to announce his replacement, out came The Equalizer himself, led by manager King Ran-sid Akhbar Idu Stinq, who demanded that he get his match with Bundy that night. Bundy instead introduced his replacement, Big Slam Vader. Equalizer and King Idu Stinq were none too pleased.

NWS Hardcore Champion Johnny Candido defeated Corey Havoc and Cameron Shaft in a three-way Elimination Hardcore Match.
After a long absence, Johnny Candido returned to NWS action with a challenging match against two large and hard-hitting opponents. All three men took the fight to each other inside and outside the ring, using chairs and other weapons. Shaft eliminated Havoc with a DDT and pin, leving hiim and Candido to battle it out. Candido superkicked a chair into Shaft’s face and then pinned him 1-2-3 to win the match. Shaft and Havoc were not satisfied to take the loss lightly and attacked Candido after the match until Rogue, who was hanging out in the back, rushed in to make the save. Candido was not convinced of Rogue’s good intentions, however, and attacked him. Candido challenged Rogue to a Hardcore Match at NWS’ next Seaside Heights show on August 2nd. Rogue happily accepted.

In a non-title match, NWS Tag-Team Champions The Psychadelic Sissies (”Mr. Motion” Shane Taylor & Ace Darling w/ King Ran-sid Akhbar Idu Stinq) defeated Mikey Pacifica & “Ice-Fire” Steve Zapf.
Pacifica & Zapf demanded that the match be a title match, but Taylor and Ace told them they would have to win this non-title match before they could get a shot. Pacifica and Zapf took the fight to the Psychadelics. But while Zapf was getting ready to deliver a top-rope drop-kick on Taylor, The Equalizer snuck out to ringside and pushed Zapf off the ropes right into a superkick from Taylor, who pinned Zapf 1-2-3. Equalizer, Taylor, and Ace continued to attack Zapf and Pacifica until Big Slam Vader chased them off.

T.N.T won a Chokeslam Challenge against T.J. Sparks and Jumping Joey Janella.
This was billed as a handicap match, but when you looked at T.N.T’s size versus the two youngsters in the opposite corner, you had to wonder who was indeed handicapped? Janella and Sparks had the right idea at the start, double-teaming T.N.T and keeping him off his feet. But the big man’s size and strength won in the end, as he chokeslammed Janella and Sparks together to win the challenge.

Rhett Titus defeated Chris Steeler by submission.
The increasingly popular Titus had plenty of fans in attendance, but also a tough task in veteran Chris Steeler. In what was inarguably the match of the night, the two men battled back and forth, matching hold for hold, until Titus caught Steeler in a reverse crossface submission and Steeler tapped out.

Big Slam Vader (w/ King Kong Bundy) defeated The Equalizer (w. King Ran-sid Akhbar Idu Stinq).
Equalizer was reluctant to get into the ring with Big Slam, and Big Slam responded by inviting all the children in the crowd to do the Chicken Dance in the ring in front of Equalizer. After the ring was cleared, Equalizer attacked Big Slam and the fight was on. Equalizer, with King Idu Stinq’s help, was able to keep Big Slam off his feet for a period of time, but it was not enough to keep the big man down forever. Following his manager’s example, Big Slam hit Equalizer with an Avalanche followed by a Splash, and got the three-count, followed by a five-count at Bundy’s urging, to get the victory.
