James Storm Speaks Out!

James Storm Speaks Out! One half of TNA’s all-time greatest tag team opened up on all the important subjects, including his feud with former partner Chris Harris, and The Kingfish was there to get all the info for you! James Storm and his tag team partner were virtually unknown when TNA opened its doors for the first time five years ago. Their team, America’s Most Wanted was the first new stars to emerge from the promotion and, over the years, became synonymous with tag team wrestling in TNA. Their reign and their friendship went down in flames. The two former friends have now had a series of some of the wildest, most brutal matches in recent wrestling history.

On the eve of Slammiversary and the big match with Frank Wycheck, James Storm had some things to say, some things he needed to get out in the open. Here’s what he had to say:

James Storm looked back over the five years in TNA and said that his favorite moment was the match with Triple X at Turning Point.

He said that he has wrestled for 10-1/2 years, and that having someone to tag out to when he blows up is certainly nice. But he feels that his career is now going in a singles direction. “All eyes are on me now.”

Storm called for the establishment of a second-tier, mid-card title, “like WWE has the United States and Intercontinental titles.”

“I think they actually do need another hour,” said Storm. “Our roster is full of wrestlers who can go out and perform at a high level.” He termed the extra hour the biggest improvement that TNA could make.

Looking forward to his big match at the pay per view, he says he doesn’t expect any “hometown” backing from fans. Storm said he brought in Ron “The Truth” Killings, because Wycheck has brought in Jerry Lynn as his tag partner. Storm claimed that he has nothing against Lynn, but he is the enemy, because he has put himself in that position. Storm admitted that he was hoping it would be a single match. He wanted to be able to show what he could do in a match against someone who is not trained.

He said that TNA made the decision to split up AMW, “because maybe AMW had run its course for a little bit.” The team may reform down the road.

Although the feud started slowly, it has gained tremendous momentum. He said that, before Sacrifice, he and Harris asked management to let them go out and beat up each other. “It’s what we do best.”

The Tennessee Cowboy said he is looking forward to the heavy schedule over the next few weeks. “I wish they’d run seven days a week,” he added. -
