SuperStar Style — JD Michaels

JD Michaels is back from his honeymoon in Vegas with his latest column, and some shiny new gold around his waist!

August didn’t leave me with much to write about with the exception of my wedding, which will get a blog all to itself once we receive the majority of our pictures back. I still had 2 shows before the wedding however. The first was for MXW here in CT. It was yours truly against Kristian Frost again, but with a stipulation of most falls inside a 20 min time limit.

Close to the 10 min mark I tapped to his submission which pissed me off as I was down a fall, so I took him outside and threw him face first into the stairs, which busted him the hardway. It was all downhill from there for Frost as I saw blood and went for the kill. I attacked his cut with elbows, forearms and stomps to the head.

Being Canadian, it was only logical that I lock on the Sharpshooter hoping to cause even more blood loss. He barely made it to the ropes and by the time he did he was so weak.

I set him up and nailed my top rope elbow SuperStarStyle for the 1-2-3 thus tying up the falls with about a minute left.

However with only seconds left, the match ended in a draw. As April and I double mooned the crowd, Frost made his way to the hospital for some staples. Then on the 27th we were in Buffalo, NY for BallPark Brawl. I competed in a 6 man scramble match against Delirious, Chris Hero, Ruckus, John McChesney and 400 lb Big Cat Lemmar. McChesney was the first one eliminated, then I eliminated Big Cat only to be eliminated by Delirious. There probably was between 500-700 people at the stadium who withstood the unpredictable thunderstom weather to come out and witness one of the biggest shows of the year. September started off in MCW on the 10th with the Tribute To The Legends show. After the vicious beat down of Corporal Punishment at the last MCW show, myself, DJ Hyde and Altarboy Luke were ordered to take on C.P and his 2 former MCW alumni mystery partners who turned out to be former WWE tag champion Headbanger Mosh and former WWE United States champ Orlando Jordan. The match was total chaos from the first bell and spilled all over the place. In the end, I ducked out of Corporal’s chair shot only to walk into Orlando’s flatliner.

The 16th saw April and I make our way back to Long Island and Victory Pro Wrestling for a mixed tag match against Danny Demanto and Alicia.

This match was fun and the packed crowd was definitely into the match. At some point, everyone mixed it up with everyone. Unfortunately, Danny sat on April with a modified Samoan drop and got the win. I don’t think many people could kick out if Demanto came down with all his weight on them (which is like 400 million trillion pounds). Poor April. I administered some CPR and she was ok.

The 17th was my birthday …thanks to everyone who sent presents, cards and myspace birthday wishes.

April and I hit the road on the 21st for the double shot with TNT. Georgia is about 20 hours from where we live (lame) so we had to drive down to Philly and meet up with RF Video and Christine Coons (photographer). We were all supposed to go from Philly to GA in a big van, but there was a miscommunication with the rental place and they didn’t have any big vans left, they only had one mini van. So we had to get a car as there wasn’t enough room to fit all 7 of us with all the luggage. We drove for 8 hours then grabbed some sleep. The next day after a laaate check out from the hotel and a stop at the Waffle House, we hit the road for another 8+ hour drive. We arrived in Atlanta around midnight on the 22nd. The first of the double shot was in Winder, GA, about 30 minutes outside Atlanta, at 3pm. I wrestled Bobby Houston and J-Sinn in a 3 way for the vacant TNT Heavyweight championship. J-Sinn walked out of Winder the champ after he pinned Houston, but a rematch was scheduled later that night in Kennesaw, and I had full intention of leaving GA with the gold.

The finish saw myself and Houston duking it out on the middle rope with the ref trying to get in between us. I saw my opening and you bet your ass I took it. With the ref’s vision limited, I snuck a low blow in which enabled me to get the upper hand in the slugfest and send Houston sailing to the middle of the ring. From there I stepped up to the top and hit the top rope elbow SuperStarStyle for the 1-2-3 and the TNT Championship!

April defeated Talia for the vacant TNT Women’s title so wrestlings hottest couple is now the SHINIEST!!

There are 3 types of people in this world: those who don’t know what happened; those who wonder what happened; and people like April and I who make things happen! Our next shot with TNT is October 14th in Portsmouth, VA, where just released from the WWE “Pitbull” Kid Kash will challenge me for my new title. It don’t matter to me what kind of dog he calls himself, at the end of the day he will be gettin’ tamed at the hands of this Canadian Showstopper.

Last shot of the month was back at Fort Meade, MD, for Military Championship Wrestling, a sister of Maryland Championship Wrestling. We like to drive at night as there is a lot less traffic, and if we head south we always stop and crash at April’s mom’s house. On the Garden State Parkway there was a really bad accident. How bad? There are 3 lanes going in each direction and it was down to 1 lane each way… even with a barrier between directions. The accident must have been only a few minutes old when we pulled up about 100 ft. from it. We tried to get off at what appeared to be an exit (as this was a mess and the highway was a parking lot), but it was just one of those rest stops where you can park to sleep. While sitting there we thought hell, traffic isn’t moving and won’t for a while, there is nothing to do, its dark out… thus we parked the car next to the trees and turned a rather boring situation into a fun, hot, sweaty…. well you know. I’ve always taken pride in having good timing in the ring, but on this day, just as the traffic started moving, we finished! (Don’t bother inserting a joke about how it took 2 minutes to clean up the accident either.) The helicopter took off with the injured and we were back on the road.

I wrestled Maryland regular Derek Frazier who on the Tribute To The Legends show on the 10th went toe to toe with AJ Styles and scored a victory. Obviously Frazier had horseshoes up his ass to get that victory. I thought he didn’t have anymore, but I was wrong.

The match started off quickly and in his favor, but soon I gained the upper hand by sending Derek into the cold guard rails. From there, I took Mr. Frazier out for dinner… chops for an appetizer; a hearty portion of head stomps, missile back elbow on the side and a well done rolling guillotine fist drop rounded out the main course. For desert, I tried serving him the big elbow–SuperStarStyle…… but I missed. As I got up, I walked right into one of his modified cradle piledrivers and he walked away with the month of September probably being the luckiest month of his life. All in all, August-September was very hit or miss. I spent 89 hours in a vehicle to do all these shows. August was very slow, but probably was a good thing since I was getting ready for a freakin’ wedding and September had me on the losing end a few times, yet I come away with a brand new shiny championship belt… either way…

Controversy never looked this good!

Have a good one.
